The Law Reform Commission is a body established by the Law Reform Commission Act, 2011 (Act 822). Its core purpose is to promote law reform in Ghana by making practical proposals for the development, simplification, and modernisation of the laws of the country.

Members of the public can participate by making written submissions to the Commission. The Commission also produces and disseminates consultation papers on topical issues, inviting comments from individuals, agencies, and key stakeholders including Ministries, Departments, and NGOs.
The Commission produces a final report that reviews a particular area of law and sets out recommendations for improvement. These recommendations are based on detailed analysis, examination of best practices in other jurisdictions, model laws, and public comments.
The Commission has a staff strength of twenty-six people. This includes the Executive Director, Lawyers, Researchers, and Administrative and Support Staff, all working across its various Directorates and Units.
